Tar Heel Service Day

Woordle for Service Day

Every year on UNC’s birthday, the University celebrates by having Tar Heel Service Day. It’s a day where Alumni and Friends everywhere help people in their communities all over the world.

In 2014, nearly 1,200 Carolina alumni and friends served a grand total of 5,096 hours in honor of University Day on Oct. 12, 2014.  Tar Heels rolled up their sleeves in 26 states and four countries. From Cairo to Chicago, Tar Heels cleaned beaches, visited the elderly, cheered on marathoners and baked cookies for firefighters.

This coming Saturday is this year’s event, and our own local Winston Salem Club will be at the Clemmons Food Pantry to help them anyway we can.  They are a partner agency of Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, and a member of Feeding America.  Time is 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Please come out and join us to help those in need in our local community and celebrate our favorite University’s birthday.
